University of Maribor, Faculty of Law

The University of Maribor - UM (www.um.si) is the 2nd largest and oldest public university in Slovenia, with approx. 14000 students and 1800 employees. The ranking “Emerging Economies University Rankings 2019” ranked UM on the 182nd place. It received the HRS4R award as Slovenia's 1st university. UM currently takes part in 14 H2020 projects, while being part of several other projects, such as Trista project which develops Slovenia’s first nanosatellite; HPC RIVR which deals with the installation of a regional supercomputer. UM is also a leading institution on international scale in developing blockchain solutions. UM students regularly reach visible results at Imagine Cup, ACM, IEEE competitions.

The Faculty of Law of UM (FL) (www.pf.um.si) is an institution with approx. 600 students at all three levels of education (Bachelor, Master and PhD). In recent years it recorded important growth in the number of incoming foreign (ERASMUS+) students. FL devotes its attention to modern trends in research and education. It is working to boost the process of internationalisation of its educational, research and expert activities. In the last five years it has, been implementing amongst other projects, six ERASMUS+ Jean Monnet projects, coordinated 10 large-scale EU projects, and is conducting a basic national research programme “Civil economic law”.
